Innovation is in the heart of Enel. In Brazil, the company has an Innovation Committee led by Country Manager Carlo Zorzoli and integrate by other key executives. The committee discusses and evaluates new projects, improvements to processes and management methodologies suggested by employees, regardless of their position. The innovation strategy is structured and communicated to all areas, in all business lines.

Enel's head of Innovation in Brazil, Bruno Cecchetti,  highlights the importance of projects that stimulate creativity and innovation among Group's 15,000 employees in the country. Initiatives such as Inspire and Inspire Entrepreneurs recognise the best ideas and practices created in-house. In addition, startup acceleration projects such as Energy Start are among company’s competitive advantages.

ABOUT THE AWARD

Promoting and recognising the innovative spirit of Brazilian organisations. This is the main goal of the National Innovation Award, one of the largest awards programme in the country
The National Innovation Award is an initiative of Business Innovation Mobilisation (Mobilização Empresarial da Inovação – MEI), executed by the National Industry Federation (Confederação Nacional da Indústria – CNI) and by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Serviço Brasileiro de Apoio às Micro e Pequenas Empresas – SEBRAE).

“The 2016/2017 edition registered a record number of applications. In total, 3,987 companies submitted their projects and are in the running to win a pre-approved amount of R$ 900,000 in the SENAI SESI Innovation Public Notice and executive education courses”

In addition to the award in 'Innovation Management', Enel Brazil was also one of the three finalists in the category 'Marketing Innovation'. The winners had been announced on June 26th, at the opening of the 7th edition of the Brazilian Innovation Congress in São Paulo.
