To continue investing in the development of Uruguay’s energy market: that was one of the commitments undertaken by Enel Brasil Country Manager Carlo Zorzoli during the First European Investment Forum in Uruguay, which took place in Montevideo at the end of June.
Carlo was one of the speakers in the ‘Business Opportunities in Uruguay’ panel and highlighted the reasons behind Enel Group’s decision to work in the region. He participated in the debate alongside other executives and Danilo Astori, the country’s finance minister:
“Uruguay is a country with great potential to become an energetic hub in the Cone Sur region. We want to maintain our strategic partnership to integrate the full energy value chain, from generation and supply networks to the development of smart grid solutions, digitalisation, electric cars and infrastructure”
Jorge Cernadas, Enel Green Power manager in Uruguay, was also present at the event and commented on the investment opportunities in the region.
The First European Investment Forum in Uruguay is an initiative organised by the European Union Delegation aiming to support the internationalisation of companies by identifying business opportunities in Uruguay. The event gathered over 700 entrepreneurs and investors from Europe and Latin America to debate the future of commercial relationships between the two continents.
Reduction of CO2 emissions
Enel Green Power has 740 sustainable power plants – wind, solar, geothermal and biomass – in 16 countries. In Uruguay, EGP has run the Melowind Wind Park since 2015. The plant is another Enel project focusing on opening energy up to new uses and reducing the emission of polluting gasses into the atmosphere.
