Brazilians are notoriously the kings of social networks and mad about sport. Now, these two passions can help our Formula E drivers to get a little push from the fans during the races in the worldwide competition for electric cars.
Get to know the FanBoost technology
FanBoost is a tool that gives drivers an extra energy boost through online voting. The three drivers with the most votes earn the right to push a button in the car that gives an extra 100kJ impulse to be used in a single shot, in a window that can vary between 180kW and 200kW. It can be a decisive strategy, especially in the most exciting overtaking, when riders need to have top speed.
The goal of Fanboost is to engage the crowd in the atmosphere of the race, allowing fans to have a direct impact on the drivers’ performance on the track. The worldwide voting is free and can be followed in real time on the official championship website.
You can vote only once per day and there are three ways to participate:
- Through the Formula E website: fiaformulae.com/fanboost
- Through the official app “FIA Formula-E Championship”, available for Android and iOS
- Via Twitter, using the hashtag #FanBoost and a second hashtag with the name of your favourite driver. For instance, if you to want to give an extra boost for the Brazilian drivers, you just have to include on the same post: #FanBoost #LucasdiGrassi or #FanBoost #NelsonPiquet
For your tweets to count, the privacy configuration of your account must be set as public. Your participation can help define the outcome of a race or even of the whole championship!
