Since 2003 Enel has released a Sustainability Report, an example of the Group’s strong commitment to maintaining a close relationship with all stakeholders: not only with shareholders, investors, employees, customers and suppliers, but also with institutions, communities and future generations.
For the eleventh year in a row, in 2014/2015, Enel was admitted to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and to the Dow Jones Europe Index. Endesa, the Enel Group's Spanish subsidiary, has also been confirmed in the Dow Jones World Index. Enel Group was also included in the prestigious Climate Disclosure Leadership Index by CDP Italy (2014) and, for the first time, it appeared in STOXX’s environmental, social, and governance leadership index (STOXX Global ESG Leaders index). Furthermore, Enel Group was once again listed in the FTSE4Good index series, where Enel Green Power was first rated in an independent manner.
Since January 2011 Enel has taken part in Global Compact LEAD, a program launched by the United Nations Global Compact that brings together 56 leading companies in economic, social and environmental sustainability. Moreover, since February 2013 Enel has been member of the board of Global Compact LEAD.
